I’ve been to Dublin a few times now and it’s become one of my favourite city’s to visit (especially on a boozy weekend away with the girls). You can easily get a cheap flight to Dublin from Manchester. It’s just a bit expensive when you get there.
On my last visit to Dublin I went with my close friend for a weekend of drinking and good laughs. When we arrived in Dublin we wondered why the hotel and flights were slightly cheaper then we imagined. The taxi man who drove us to our hotel explained that we had “picked a right weekend” to visit. 20,000 French men had descended on the city for the rugby. Me and my friend turned to each other and said OH MY GOODNESS.
I’ve stayed in both hotels and apartments in Dublin. Me and my friend stayed in a Holiday Inn Express a 10 minute walk from Temple Bar. The hotel was great. Clean and modern with a free breakfast in the morning.
There is plenty to do and see in Dublin. Why not take a walk to Merrion Square Park?
Have a picture with Oscar Wilde…
The Molly Malone Statue…
The Guinness Storehouse…
One of the best things I’ve done in Dublin is visit Trinity College Library and the Book of Kells. It was extremely magical in the library and I would definitely recommend the visit. There was a bit of a wait when we went, but it was worth every second.
The nightlife is pretty amazing in Dublin. Have an adventure down Temple Bar we’re you’ll find a lot of Irish Pubs (which are pretty much there just for tourists). However, you’ll have a brilliant time. Grab a Guinness and sing a long to some Irish music.
My most favourite pub on Temple Bar is The Quays. I’ve been in The Quays many times and I must say the energy and vibe is electric. Me and my friend met many people in here and had some great ‘craic’.
There are too many stories to tell from my last trip to Dublin. We did meet this great French guy we nicked named ‘Uncle France’ as he was with a group of French men including his Nephew…
It’s a lovely experience to visit the city at Christmas. The Christmas lights are lovely. We accidentally walked into a fantastic shopping centre with some lovely decorations. However, I unfortunately can’t remember the name!
I’ve got a lot of great memories from this amazing city. A lot of stories I can’t share, because they mostly contain funny secrets from drunken night outs down Temple Bar. If you like drinking, music, singing and the ‘craic’. This is the place for you. It’s the place to go for a fun weekend break away.
Until next time Dublin…
